It’s a thoroughly miserable day out there, and we thought we’d pay tribute to those poor cyclists who got caught in the torrential rain.

Here’s a series of photos showing drenched two-wheelers pedalling – or scooting – along Coldharbour Lane in Brixton this afternoon.

By coincidence, we captured this moment of white/black symmetry.

We noticed a mix of regular bikes, electric bikes and a couple of scooters.

About half the cyclists we saw had elected to wear helmets.

  1. At night I see a significant number of cyclists (30%+) and scooters (80%+) riding about with no lights on putting themselves at danger of being run over – many are delivery riders too who you would have though would have had to present a road worthy bicycle to their employers as part of the contract of employment.

  2. Looks like they are all in need of the old fashioned cycle cape. I used to wear one of those, not only kept me dry but as it was bright yellow it meant I could be seen.
