Brixton Village's arts and fashion store United80 looks for crowdfunded revamp

Describing themselves as a “concept store for independent art, music and fashion,” Brixton Village business United80 has launched a  five week crowdfunder campaign to raise funds for the redesign and development of their “evolving, creative hub and brand.”

The store has set an ambitious target of £30,000 on to finance a remodelling of their retail space, update their website and web store, and to launch a range of exclusive homeware, art and apparel via collaborations with local artists and brands.

They also hope that the campaign will help secure and execute plans for longevity, and to “boost united80’s growth on the worldwide platform as a Lifestyle brand.”

“It is so important to have a hub for our brand, this is where relationships have been built with customers and artists alike.” says owner and self-taught fashion designer Samantha Jane.

Opening up seven years ago as Brixton Village was being rejuventaed, United80 has hosted events and provided a platform for guest deejays, live band performances, fashion shows, trunk shows, and topical forums in-store.
