Block Porn advert update: developers agree to take down their offensive sign

Following our article yesterday, we were made aware that several locals had complained to the Advertising Standards Authority about this advert, and some had also been in contact with Brixton Ward Councillor, Paul Gadsby, who spoke to the company behind this venture.

He told Brixton Buzz:

Following complaints from residents, I spoke to the company behind this advertisement and emphasised that the use of language in my view wasn’t appropriate for a residential area. After a constructive conversation, the company has offered to pay for changes to be made to the advertisement which make the language more appropriate and undertake further alterations to the design.

They have offered to complete these changes in the next week. The residents who raised this issue with me are happy with these alterations and I am glad we have got this resolved quickly.

UPDATE: It seems that community pressure has forced the developers to change the name of their development to ‘Block Angel,’  with the sexy pornographic stuff changed to guff about “RAW natural materials” and “penthouse roof apartments.”
