Locals wondering what troubling fate might await Streatham’s Bank pub (which closed its doors last year) will (probably) be pleased to hear that the pub is set to re-open next month as The Mere Scribbler.
The Mere Scribbler will be the latest local boozer from Livelyhood (check out their artist’s impression of the new pub above), an independent pub group who currently run three other Sound London watering holes – the Clapham North, The Regent in Balham and The Old Frizzle of Wimbledon.
Located on the former site of the Bank pub (opposite Streatham Common) the Mere Scribbler promises a large bar and dining space serving food and drink from local suppliers and producers with plenty of beers on draught along with wines from around the world and carefully curated cocktails (shame – we always prefer recklessly curated cocktails, ourselves).
They’ll also have giant screens showing all the big games and sporting events at the back of the pub plus an outdoor space for the smokers and sun worshippers.
They haven’t gone public with an exact opening date in April yet, but when they do, we’ll let you know. In the meantime you can find them on Facebook here: https://www.facebook.com/MereScribblerSW/
