A pop up music festival has been organised by Herne Hill campaigners fighting for the future of their local shops and to ‘Save the Half Moon’ as a music venue.
With rents fast rising, the area has already lost a popular children’s toy shop, and look set to lose the Half Moon pub as a music venue, with London brewery Fuller’s saying that they have no plans to put on live music.
The free free family event in will take place in Station Square, Herne Hill, starting at 2.30pm, 5th March.
According to a post on the Herne Hill forum, there will be a number of local musicians playing and some ‘very special guests’.
Follow @hernehillforum and @savehalfmoonpub on Twitter for further announcements about the line up.
Community activists who want to make a day of it could perhaps join the earlier Save Our Libraries demo in Windrush Square, Brixton, which starts at 10.30am on the same day.
Discuss this and other Herne Hill matters on the forums.
