There was much singing to be heard resonating around Acre Lane on Saturday afternoon, as worshippers at the Universal Pentecostal Church stood on the pavement belting out songs and clutching slogan-covered banners.

Battling to make themselves heard above the rumbling traffic, the church folk blasted out some God-lovin’ tunes, backed by guitar and keyboard accompaniment.
